Washington Sundar has been out of action of international cricket for almost 10 months – he last played for India in March 2021 – because of injuries. The all-rounder returned to action for Tamil Nadu in the recently concluded Vijay Hazare Trophy, where he finished as one of the leading wicket-takers leading his team to the final.

Navdeep Saini last played for India in July 2021 while on the tour of Sri Lanka. Jayant Yadav meanwhile has only featured in a solitary 50-over game for India which came way back in 2016 against New Zealand.
