Premier League Table: Man City make it 11 wins in a row

Manchester City look red-hot favourites to win the Premier League as they made it 11 wins in a row over the weekend.

City came from behind to earn a superb 2-1 win in a controversial and hot-tempered clash against Arsenal at the Emirates.

Arsenal dominated the first half and took the lead through Bukayo Saka but the match turned on its head in a couple of minutes in the second period.

First of all Granit Xhaka conceded a penalty that was dispatched by Riyad Mahrez. And then Gabriel was sent for two yellow cards.

In injury time City completed the turnaround when Rodri swept home.

City were guaranteed a good weekend after this result as second-placed Chelsea hosted Liverpool on Sunday in a game that was overshadowed by Thomas Tuchel’s decision to drop Romelu Lukaku following an interview in which he criticised his manager.

Liverpool started fast and took the lead on 10 minutes through Sadio Mane, who capitalised on a Trevor Chalobah mistake. They then doubled their advantage on 25 minutes as Mohamed Salah tricked Edouard Mendy at his near post for his 150th goal in English football.

But Chelsea launched a fantastic comeback before half-time as Mateo Kovacic volleyed home a brilliant strike off the post before Christian Pulisic levelled the scores with a great finish.

Elsewhere on Sunday, Leeds bagged a big win in their relegation clash against Burnley– winning 3-1 thanks to goals from Jack Harrison, Stuart Dallas and Daniel James.

Brentford opened up a big gap from the bottom three by beating Aston Villa 2-1, while Everton will have to look over their shoulder after losing 3-2 at home to Brighton.

In Saturday’s other two matches, Antonio Conte remains unbeaten as his Tottenham side won 1-0 at Watford with an injury-time Davinson Sanchez header. West Ham returned to form with a 3-2 victory at Crystal Palace.

Leicester versus Norwich and Southampton against Newcastle were postponed due to Coronavirus.

Man Utd host Wolves on Monday.
